Gracewood Farm's goal
is be true to the very qualities that first made the Paso Fino desireable
as smooth pleasurable riding mounts into the USA. The early Paso Fino
imports from Colombia, South America were selected for easy, natural
and smooth riding gaits; sound and beautiful conformation; and with
amicable intelligent dispositions that allowed for training in various
sports, including jumping and cattle work.

Gracewood Farm's owner Lynn Gallup acquired Emperador
La Estrella (at age 22) in 2002. Emperador embodied all these desired
qualities for a versatile and beautiful naturally gaited Paso Fino horse
for the farm's recreational riding and breeding program. Emperador had
a prepotent pedigree (foundation Colombian lineage) that he passed along
to his offspring along with his special qualities.
Emperador La Estrella exemplified
Gracewood Farm's Paso Fino standard and goals. Sadly, Emperador passed
away in late November 2008. Gracewood owns his three youngest daughters
and his last son Precision de Gracia to
carry on the Emperador legacy. And to continue with the farm's goals
of breeding naturally gaited Paso Fino horses for recreational pleasure
riding and preserving the foundation Colombian Paso Fino lineage imported
into the USA in the 1960's, 1970's to the early-1980's .

Gracewood Farm has seeked out a group of Paso Fino
broodmares that carry the USA foundation Colombian lineage and athletic
qualities desired ... that of Guala,
Resorte III, Mahoma,
Sin Verquenza,
Lunares, Hilachas,
Majestuoso, Baron
que tal, Cazador que tal and "que tal" line mares, such
as Yocunda.

The Puerto Rican line of Sonador/Guamani
known for its "Andalusian" phenotype can be found as an ancestor
in several of our Paso Finos, such as in Insignia de Gracia -- shown
below with her 2007 dun colt Precision de Gracia, by Emperador La Estrella.
