the many new photos of Emperador,
taken February 2005 as E approaches his 24th birthday.

"The
horse is God's gift to mankind."
Arabian proverb
This
favorite foundation bloodline Paso Fino stallion arrived
at Gracewood Farm in October 2003. Emperador represents
what the Paso Fino breed markets today as the ideal ...
natural smooth four beat even gait,
spirit and brios with easy to handle disposition.
Conformation: Emperador has balanced correct
conformation with straight legs that stand square underneath
himself, this is why most likely he remained sound at age
23. He has a good shoulder depth, a gorgeous head with small
fox ears, big expressive eyes, large nostrils, and a refined
throatlatch. Visitors always comment on what a beautiful
head Emperador has when they first see him.

Size:
Emperador's size is easy, user friendly at 14 1/2-1 hh.
He has a 15 hand daughter. His sire Faldero was 14.2 hands
and dam was said to be a big mare. He has a gorgeous head
with tiny fox ears, big expressive eyes, large nostrils,
and refined throatlatch. He has 14 offspring stamped with
his gorgeous head and natural gait, with owners who use
them family recreational and breeding horses in North Carolina,
Lousiana, Kentucky, Texas, and Canada.

Most important as a breeding stallion with Emperador is
the prepotency of his natural gait which he passes on to
his offspring and even grandoffspring. Their owners
say:
“I have never ridden a more naturally gaited
horse.”
“I am amazed at her natural gait and wonderful disposition.”
“She has a fabulous gait! A smooth most enjoyable
ride.”

Emperador
La Estrella's pedigree reads like a "who's who"
in the Paso Fino world for the foundation stock of Meridian
Meadows and the foundation for many champions to come in
the USA showring.

Dave Jones,
nationally well known horse trainer, went into the mountains
of Colombia, South America in the late 1960s to seek out
the best natural gaited and sound conformation Paso Finos
for the foundation stock for Meridian Meadows Farm in Florida.
The horses he found that fit his criteria the most were
the "working" or "transportation" Pasos
which were used daily in the Andes mountains. The conformation
had to be good or they would break down. The gait had to
be good, for they were ridden comfortably over long distances
every day. They also had to be surefooted to survive. Dave
Jones wanted to breed the world's best pleasure horse. Meridian
Meadows used these Paso Finos for cutting cattle, show jumping
and ranch work. Meridian Meadows imported Guala, Hilaches,
Mahoma, and Baron que tal.
Dave
Jones said: "Our stallions are very strong in this
respect and strength of gait plus conformation are our breeding
targets."
