Welcome
to Gracewood Farm
Driving
down the winding country road that wraps around the aged
wood fencing, visitors may see Paso Fino mares and foals
grazing peacefully on the gently rolling pasture in the
spring and summer. The horse barn and pre-Civil War Farm
house (est. 1810) are nestled among towering pines and hardwoods.
Located in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, the farm
is about twenty miles southwest of the North Carolina state
capital Raleigh, in the community of New Hill.
The
New Millenium for Gracewood Farm Paso Finos
Gracewood's plan is to be true to the qualities that made
the Paso Fino desireable in the United States back when
the first Paso Fino importations came from Colombia, South
America in the late 1960's and early 1970's and for today's
demanding recreation market ... natural gait, amicable disposition
and proud beauty. Thus, Lynn Gallup acquired Emperador La
Estrella in 2002 who embodies all these wonderful qualities
desired in today's versatile and beautiful Paso Fino horse.
His is a prepotent pedigree to meet today's American market
even at age 25. A pedigree of importance of prepotent quality
and desired Paso Fino traits!
Gracewood
is carefully selecting the Paso Fino broodmares which will
deliver the Paso Fino foal crop for Gracewood from Emperador
La Estrella. Some of the Paso Fino mares' bloodlines represented
include Majestuoso, Profeta, Castellano, Hilaches, Resorte
III, Faeton LaCE, and Guamani. Excitement will be in the
air for the spring as all the little Emperador(s) go ...tica...tica...tica
in perfect paso fino rhythm with that "look at me"
attitude!
Gracewood's
Primary Goals
Gracewood Farm's owner and manager Lynn Gallup considers
the farm to be a selective Paso Fino farm whose goal is
to breed, raise and sell versatile Paso Fino horses that
convey much grace, elegance, beauty, and natural gait. These
horses are to be the pride and joy of their owners bringing
them many pleasureable hours riding. The farm's breeding
goals involves owning three to six select Paso Fino broodmares
and then breed them to outstanding proven complimentary
Paso Fino stallion lines. The breeding stock are selected
on the uniqueness, desireability and prepotency of their
bloodlines, along with sound conformation, willing easy
disposition and very importantly a smooth natural
gait.
