Dave Jones' Letters to Colombia
Excerpt from El Caballo Colombiano, by Enrique Angel Londono

These were in Spanish ... and contains letters written by Dave Jones to Sr. Londono. I believe that he was hoping to get a pedigree on Eblis (says Ebris in the letter), and speaks of the horses MM imported to the US, and how they are producing... I translated them to English in the best I could and hope keep a similar meaning... Lynn Gallup

I do not believe that you must wait to obtain help to get your book published in the United States. I believe it to be a seriously good idea for those who would embark with such an adventure. I am very interested in purifying the breed with good horses and "podria" also to help it. Being which the Paso horse is popular in Colombia but that in the United States then logicistically the book must have a good welcome. If it is impossible to publish, it at least it must be recorded so that such important data for many are not lost; to have that information even if it seems to us that to endorse such an adventure it is too expensive. We have at the present time 135 Paso horses. Our breeding stallions are "Mahoma" and "Relicario", from Sr. Tamayo; "Hilachas" from Esebio Vargas; "Belmonte", son of Resorte III; "Baron" (by Eblis) and "Criol" (son of Mahoma and Salpicada).

Translation:
It was for my very pleasure to receive this kind letter to which I have of taste of "referime". "Mideseo" of which one publisher publishes my book "The Colombian Horse", is because I believe that the book is to be sold to all the fans of the Paso world. The local merchants are not interested in selling or marketing the books in others places.
